Makers Mission

Makerspaces are vital hubs of creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning, empowering students to turn ideas into reality. Makers Mission is thrilled to announce a significant expansion of the makerspace capabilities at Bosque School in Albuquerque, thanks to an incredibly generous partnership with Polymaker, a global leader in 3D printing materials.

This recent development builds upon Makers Mission’s ongoing commitment to supporting Bosque School’s educational technology initiatives. For about a year now, Makers Mission has been working with the school, starting with the donation of two Creality Ender 3 printers at the end of the 2023-2024 school year. These initial printers were successfully integrated and heavily utilized this past academic year in their dynamic robotics program, giving students valuable experience with additive manufacturing.

Now, the possibilities at Bosque School have exploded! Polymaker has stepped in with a monumental donation that dramatically scales the school’s 3D printing resources. This isn’t just a few printers; it’s a significant fleet designed to put powerful tools into the hands of more students. The donation includes:

  • 8 Bambu Lab A1 Mini 3D Printers: Compact yet capable, perfect for classroom environments and individual student projects.
  • 2 Bambu Lab P1S Combos 3D Printers: More robust machines for larger projects or faster production, offering increased versatility.
  • 100 Spools of High-Quality Filament: A massive supply ensuring students and educators have the material they need to bring countless designs to life without interruption.

This influx of printers and materials transforms the makerspace, allowing for greater accessibility, more ambitious projects, and deeper integration of 3D printing across various subjects, from STEM and art to design and engineering. Students will have unparalleled opportunities to learn design thinking, prototyping, iteration, and advanced manufacturing skills.

The impact of this donation has already garnered local attention, highlighting the importance of community partnerships in education. You can read the KRQE news story about the donation here: https://www.krqe.com/news/education/bosque-school-receives-10-3d-printers-for-student-use/

Makers Mission is incredibly proud to have facilitated this partnership and to witness the growth of the makerspace at Bosque School. Our sincere thanks go to Polymaker for their exceptional generosity and commitment to empowering the next generation of makers and innovators.

This collaboration exemplifies the power of nonprofits, schools, and industry leaders working together to provide students with the tools and resources they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. We can’t wait to see the incredible creations that will emerge from the expanded Bosque School makerspace!
